I'm a dual Psychology and Sociology major leaning into Public Health studying bio-statistics and epidemiology. I work with social workers, grant writers and evaluators where I was introduced to GIS. Great tool for Public Health, plus it would be a great skill to have if /when my academic days as a researcher are done.

That sounds incredibly interesting! I started as a biology major my first time in school, actually studying genetics. I had a hard time dealing with the fact that I would most likely be a lab rat after graduation. The second time at school I ended up in Environmental Science and loved it, I took GIS as part of my electives and decided to do it as a career. What is your study area?
