ArcPad Forms

Hi, I don't know if there are any ArcPad users out there. However, I thought I'd give it a try.
I developed a form in ArcPad, which allows me to keep track of animals I test for diseases, such as rabies, distemper, etc. Every time a point is added a "datasheet" pops up and allows me to enter habitat data, which samples were collected, species, etc.
For studies where I might be visiting the same site/trap on multiple days (eg density study) I would like to be able to GPS my trap locations the first day and come back the next day click on the same location, and have a new datasheet popup. Currently, I can click next to the point and a new "datasheet" pops up. However, they do not have the same coordinates, which in theory they should as it's the same trap. If I click directly on the point it brings up the "old" datasheet. Any thoughts on how to remedy this? Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated! I will also note that I am not much of a programer, but sense that some will be involved....
THANKS in advance
Thank you,

If you have developed the form and already marked the spot where the trap is set, you can just SELECT the previous point and alter the attributes associated with the point.

Use the select feature tool (and make sure that the trap point is selectable).

    Hope this helps.

Whoops, I reread your post without happy hour drinks in me and noticed that I misunderstood your intent.

The easiest solution would be to use the same dataset, set your new point and collect your new data in a new point attribute form and then utilize ArcMap to snap the additional points to the x,y location of the initial one. If you have your ArcPad form set up with an auto attribute of the coordinates of the point when it is set, you can recalc those fields once you have corrected the additional points to the initial one.

In a nutshell, unless you set up your form with fields to accept data from subsequent visits, you really don't have much choice but to stack points to collect data over time. It would make for a cumbersome attribute table. But if you have a date field for the visit and a code field for whether it is a "trap setting" or a "revisit", you could stack points and snap them to the desired point and have a nice, exportable spreadsheet after the study is done.

Hope that was more accurately helpful.

    :-)

I have done this in the past. However, I'm extremely lazy, and want to decrease fiddling as much as possible. I did find a code that will allow me to do what I want. I just have to figure out how to incorporate it. In the meantime, I found that selecting snap to point in the edit session works reasonably well.
